I love wordplay and this poem was lots of fun to write, because so many good rhymes came to mind. When that happens, the poem practically writes itself.
Deborah Ruddell is a poet and picture book author who always loved words, but didn’t dream of writing books until she had children of her own. Her books include Today at the Bluebird Cafe (Chicago Public Library Best of the Best); A Whiff of Pine, a Hint of Skunk (ALA Notable Book); and Who Said Coo?, illustrated by her twin sister Robin Luebs, (Texas Library Association 2×2 Reading List). Up next in 2015 is The Picky Ogre, a poetic tribute to Ruddell’s favorite topic: food.

I love this book of Deborah’s! I just wrote a beaver poem at my blog last week for 15 Words or Less, so what fun to see another beaver poem so close to that. I love especially the lines:
Building Conceiver
True Believer
Waterproof Weaver
Something about that True Believer in there between the more concrete roles makes me love that beaver even more:>)
